Edge computing and strong IPC hardware: Highly resilient for immense amounts of data

A special feature of ctrlX IPC is the powerful edge computing. Here, the data filtering takes place directly at the edge, so that even with high data transfer rates from cloud computing and with large data volumes, there is no overload. These are the best prerequisites for the implementation of smart processes.

The components are easily connected to the process level. The industrial PC also forms the ideal interface between the field level and the cloud or control level and ensures the reliable and secure transmission of large volumes of data.

ctrlX IPC grows with its tasks – today and in the future. The industrial PC can be expanded modularly with hardware and software as required, which gives users future security, as they can always operate according to their requirements and at the latest state of the art. This aspect is underlined by the fact that the system is CoDeSys compatible. The multitude of expansion options is evident in the communication, among other things. For this purpose, numerous wired interfaces are available: Gbit LAN, RS-232, RS-422/485, as well as 16 digital inputs and eight digital outputs. The hardware expansions are possible with PCIe and Mini PCIe slots.

Thanks to the operating systems Windows 10 IoT and Linux, the user can flexibly optimize the devices for any application.

We have also thought about the future in terms of availability: The ctrlX IPC portfolio is optimized for harsh industrial environments and ensures high long-term availability through maintenance-free hardware without batteries or fans. The industrial PC has only a low power dissipation – the hardware design follows the cooling concept of fanless cooling by convection only. This ensures the long and trouble-free service life of ctrlX IPC.

The demanding industrial environment requires security at all times, inside and out. This is why the hardware robustly withstands impact and vibrations and offers high EMC stability. It is therefore ideal for industrial indoor use in practically any application and environment.

The integrated security infrastructure TPM2.0 offers the possibility to protect the application. All IPCs contain data backup and recovery software as standard on delivery.
