Bosch Rexroth: Modern automation means overall solution from partners

New partners in the area of “Software Service & Consulting” support integration and implementation around ctrlX AUTOMATION

  • Automation platform from Bosch Rexroth combines strengths of specialists
  • Rapid introduction of solutions around ctrlX AUTOMATION
  • Simple transfer of existing machine operating software, etc.

Today, a modern automation system no longer consists of the know-how of just one supplier, but is made up of special knowledge and solutions from various partners. The result is a complete solution that the user can configure and deploy as required. Bosch Rexroth shows how this works with ctrlX AUTOMATION. New partners participate in the open automation system in the area of “Software Service & Consulting”. Among other things, they offer support in the introduction and operation of the solutions.

“Modular or open systems and the simple connection of various resources are key prerequisites for increasing digitalization in automation. In contrast to this are closed parallel worlds. Solutions and know-how from Bosch Rexroth and partners flow into the ecosystem around the open and connective automation platform ctrlX AUTOMATION,” explains Hans Michael Krause, Product Manager ctrlX World at Bosch Rexroth.

The constantly growing ecosystem with its ctrlX World for partners thus enables a high degree of flexibility and independence in the design of automation solutions. The partners in the area of “Software Service & Consulting” support the introduction and implementation of automation solutions.

ATINA Engineering

“Often, mechanical engineering companies already have existing solutions such as program code for controllers and machine operating software that they would like to transfer to our automation solution,” explains Hans Michael Krause. For example, ATINA Engineering provides support with the conversion of the control code to ctrlX AUTOMATION. ATINA specializes in creating digital twins, transferring PLC code from one platform to another, and implementing system integration and global commissioning for companies in the mechanical and plant engineering sector.

“Automation projects often require the interaction of different products and an obstacle-free data flow between different systems. In closed systems, interaction is often made more difficult. Thanks to the open automation solution from Bosch Rexroth, we can easily implement new solution approaches and link them together,” explains Dr. Nawid Zarrabi, Managing Director at ATINA.

Perfect Production GmbH

Another partner is Perfect Production GmbH. The consultancy offers manufacturing companies on the path to digitalization a holistic approach that considers the entire value stream 4.0, i.e. the interaction of production, administration and IT landscape.

The partnership with Bosch Rexroth focuses on the harmonization of IT landscapes. Perfect Production supports the evaluation of existing software, but also the process improvement regarding information flows and planning processes. For end customers who want to go the digitalization route, the company offers value stream mapping and helps develop a digitalization roadmap and machine connectivity through the use of ctrlX AUTOMATION.

User Interface Design GmbH (UID)

ctrlX AUTOMATION is characterized by a an excellent user experience – also in the HMI area. One partner in this area is User Interface Design GmbH (UID). The specialist for usability, user experience design and software supports users of ctrlX AUTOMATION, among other things, in creating new modern HMI interfaces, evaluating existing software and converting or re-implementing it if necessary.

“In the industrial environment, flexible web technologies that can be deployed quickly are increasingly in demand. We help users with the implementation and application of HMI solutions as well as with changeover processes from previous to new solutions,” explains Franz Koller, Managing Director at User Interface Design GmbH.

XITASO GmbH

Making complex systems easy and intuitive to employ for users is also a central objective of XITASO GmbH, digitalization partner and expert in software engineering. In this environment, XITASO creates strategies and solutions around Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things (IoT), healthcare, cloud, big data, artificial intelligence and augmented reality.

In cooperation with Bosch Rexroth, XITASO offers customers the design and development of comprehensive software solutions based on ctrlX AUTOMATION. If required, software functions can also be extended by ctrlX AUTOMATION. In addition, the company plans to offer solutions such as an OEE app in the ctrlX Store. The open approach of ctrlX AUTOMATION enables XITASO to quickly and efficiently tailor and further develop software for a wide variety of environments, machines and systems.
