Participants of the ctrlX AUTOMATION trade press conference 2021 in Lohr am Main

Welcome to the trade press conference …

Using the topic “The new freedom in automation”, Bosch Rexroth invited the trade press to its customer and innovation center in Ulm, Germany, on September 21st, 2022. The focus was on the presentation of the new products ctrlX OS and ctrlX FLOW6D. Furthermore, the latest portfolio extensions in the field of factory automation as well as the new partners of ctrlX World were presented.

The editorial teams of elektrotechnik, etz Elektrotechnik + Automation, IEN D-A-CH, konstruktionspraxis, Computer & Automation, IEE, Konstruktion, developmentscout, Tropal Media GmbH participated and were first given a short recap about this year’s activities. Particular focus was on the ctrlX developR Challenge.

Afterwards, Steffen Winkler, CSO of the Business Unit Automation & Electrification Solutions, summarized the most important facts about ctrlX AUTOMATION for the editors and informed them about planned investments. In addition, Thomas Fechner, CEO of the Automation and Electrification Solutions Business Unit, presented the latest portfolio expansions in the area of Factory Automation and explained how Kassow Robots as well as ELMO Motion Control will complement DC-AE’s scope of services in the future.

The ctrlX World also grew significantly again during the past year. Hans Michael Krause, Director of Product Management ctrlX World, gave an overview of the 22 new partners who have joined the ecosystem around ctrlX AUTOMATION. In addition, the two new members Salesforce and SICK demonstrated how they are integrated into the ctrlX World.

This was followed by the presentation of new products in the ctrlX AUTOMATION portfolio. Thomas Maag, Head of Product Management in the Automation & Electrification Solutions Business Unit, started with ctrlX OS first explained the most important facts about the Linux operating system, which was previously used exclusively on the ctrlX CORE and is now available as a separate solution. Afterwards, Holger Schnabel, Product Owner ctrlX AUTOMATION, demonstrated the functionality of the solution live using an application example, so that our guests could convince themselves of the openness of the system. Following this, the second novelty was presented: ctrlX FLOW6D. Hansjörg Sannwald, Business Development Planar Robots, explained the advantages of the planar system and then handed over to Joachim Frangen, Expert Manufacturing Automation, for the impressive live demo. The journalists were thus able to experience close up the six dimensions of motion offered by ctrlX FLOW6D. Both exhibits continued to inspire the participants even after the end of the event.

Finally, the guests had the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Model Factory. The last open questions were clarified during the lunch break.
