CytroForce – Push Your Limits
The out-of-the-box solution consisting of flow-optimized standard modules sets new benchmarks in terms of power density, energy efficiency and quiet operations. The solution is delivered ready to plug and produce, allowing even machine manufacturers with very little hydraulics experience to benefit from previously unknown application possibilities and minimal total costs from engineering to maintenance.
BE FAST
CytroForce – Plug & Produce
Once the configuration process has been carried out with support from professionals, the machine manufacturer quickly receives the completed documentation, including the CAD model. The pre-configured axis is usually delivered within 12 weeks and simply needs to be connected in order to be commissioned and used.
Pre-configured and delivered quickly.
The process is simple: a Bosch Rexroth salesperson guides the customer through the configuration processes during a face-to-face or virtual meeting. With the help of product-specific design tools, forces, speeds and paths, etc. are entered, the cycle is defined and the installation space is checked.
One of the key goals of CytroForce is to enable people to take advantage of the specific benefits of servo-hydraulic axes even if they don’t possess any hydraulic expertise and to considerably lighten the engineering load of machine manufacturers. Once the configuration process has been carried out with support from professionals, the machine manufacturer quickly receives an offer and the technical documentation, including the CAD model.
During the configuration session already, the customized axis is prepared “on the fly” ready for production, meaning that it can be delivered within 12 weeks of the order being placed.
The fast and simplified commissioning process via the plug-and-produce system with standardized interfaces represents another significant factor. Since the pre-configured CytroForce can be treated like an electric drive at the control level, only electrics and a higher-level control system need to be connected.
Maintenance of the CytroForce is also quick and easy with the service kit. The infrequent taking of fluid samples for laboratory analysis as well as sporadic refilling requires little time and no hydraulic knowledge.
Software-supported parameterization via the engineering software IndraWorks removes the need for labor-intensive programming as previously required. Subsequent cycle adjustments required further down the line can also be made quickly and easily. What's more, the software supports other simulation, engineering and commissioning tools.

With the help of the service kit, maintenance requirements are minimal and surprisingly simple due to the closed system. The inspection and refilling of the fluid with the aid of the Bosch Rexroth service kit, recommended three times in the first year and then annually, also requires no knowledge of hydraulics.

BE EFFICIENT
CytroForce – ECONOMICAL
Impressive performance figures, shorter cycle times and low overall costs mean a sustainable increase in productivity. Only half the installation space of that of non-integrated linear axes is required, and the energy consumption of the variable-speed drive is 80 percent lower. The up to 97 percent lower oil volume required compared to open systems is also economically and ecologically advantageous.
Minimal total costs and ecologically advantageous.

Compared to the conventional hydraulic solution, CytroForce reduces energy costs by 80 percent over the life cycle. Further savings are also achieved through the up to 97 percent reduction in oil volume, the corresponding insurance costs and the 50 percent reduction in the space required as the conventional hydraulic power unit is no longer required. The simplified commissioning process via the plug-and-produce system with standardized interfaces also represents another positive cost factor.
All hydraulic components and interfaces have been optimized to improve flow properties with the latest cutting-edge processes. This optimization increases performance with minimal dimensions and ensures quiet operation.
The design concept is not only flexible but also thoroughly flow-optimized: The compact manifolds, for example, are designed on a computer and then cast in molds with the help of 3D sand cores. This not only saves on resources but also allows the axis to operate more quietly on average, and reduces energy consumption by up to 80 percent.
Since Bosch Rexroth has standardized the physical interfaces between pumps, manifold and cylinder, an extremely broad range of different combinations and models can be achieved. Compared to the previous generation of SHAs, the installation space and weight of the manifold have been reduced by a factor of between two and seven, which makes them easier to integrate.

Together with the tank, safety valves and sensors, the CytroForce modules form a highly compact and efficient servo-hydraulic axis with a closed fluid circuit, making the CytroForce axis virtually maintenance-free.
The CytroForce is a highly compact and efficient servo-hydraulic axis with a closed fluid circuit and power-on-demand and standardized drive and control concept. The integrated converter allows integration into a higher-level energy management system.
Condition monitoring and/or predictive analytics can also be conducted by combining the system with Rexroth’s ODiN service, helping to further optimize the machine’s availability and maintenance.

CytroForce – Condition Monitoring
The integrated CytroConnect IoT service ensures higher availability and avoids unplanned downtimes. With this IoT service, operators can monitor operating statuses and plan maintenance in a cost-effective manner. As a result, fluid technology has taken a further step towards the future. In addition to the CytroBox’s automatic status monitoring, maintenance personnel and maintenance managers can add extra solutions for various applications as add-ons.
Optimization of availability and maintenance
Downtime can also be reduced through condition monitoring. Thanks to connected sensors and open interfaces, authorized entities can read and analyze data which are critical in terms of malfunctions and failures.
Predictive analytics can be conducted by means of the ODiN service. A machine health index for the entire axis and for every failure-relevant individual component generates indicators for process improvements and predictive maintenance.

On account of its modular design using standardized physical and logical interfaces with a higher-level standardized software ecosystem, CytroForce is able to open up a wide range of potential applications – including safety functions with trade association certification.

In addition, CytroForce's own IoT service CytroConnect offers the opportunity to tap the potential of IoT technologies as a usage-based service.
With CytroConnect Monitor, operators can access the components and operating status at their convenience. The data collected are transferred to the browser-based CytroConnect Monitor web dashboard via Multi-Ethernet or 4G-LTE. As a result, operators can be kept up to date regarding the current operating status and key status indicators on any end device (tablet, smartphone, PC).
With CytroConnect Maintain, data concerning the most important components for reliability and operating life (the hydraulic fluid and the drive unit) are assessed. Comprehensive insights into the correlation between the speed of the servo motor and the flow allow the monitoring of system leakage, while correlations between motor data and the operating pressure allow conclusions regarding drive behavior.
CytroConnect Predict uses the machine learning algorithms of the Rexroth Online Diagnostics Network (ODiN) for a predictive analysis of the system. With this IoT service, the power curves for a wide range of components are recorded for data analysis purposes. In the event of deviations, the system automatically calculates the expected remaining operating life of the relevant component and informs the operator immediately via a push message. As a result, predictive maintenance application cases can proactively be taken into account in the operator’s maintenance plans, thus ensuring maximum availability.
