Bosch Rexroth showcases the future world of automation live at SPS 2024

  • Automation system with open, modular solutions
  • Linux-based operating system that fosters co-creation and partner integration
  • Growing partner world with solutions for all automation tasks

In modern industry, complex requirements such as legal specifications, sustainability criteria, and the constant need for process optimization cannot be solved by proprietary systems. Open platforms and co-creation make it possible to pool expertise and offer comprehensive, modular solutions. Bosch Rexroth is demonstrating what the automation of the future looks like at SPS in hall 7 at booth 450. Under the slogan “Two Steps Ahead – The ctrlX AUTOMATION Show”, the company provides insights into how the automation world of Bosch Rexroth is evolving and the advantages of consistent openness, partner integration, and collaborative developments.

“Growth and change cannot be solved by the use of technologies alone. We have therefore created a world of automation that is open to anyone who wants to be part of it and that connects people, ideas, and innovations. Together with our partners, we will be presenting what this looks like in practice at this year’s SPS,” explains Steffen Winkler, Senior Vice President Sales Business Unit Automation & Electrification Solutions at Bosch Rexroth.

The open world of automation is constantly growing and becoming more diverse

One key element is the automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION, which offers all components for comprehensive automation solutions – from controls, I/Os, IPCs, HMIs, drives, and safety solutions to extensive Motion, PLC, and IoT functions. Bosch Rexroth will be demonstrating proven and new functions at the trade fair, for example, for even more performance and safety. The compatible Linux-based operating system ctrlX OS raises co-creation to a new level in the world of automation. This secure system has numerous interfaces and standards and offers maximum access for partner integration and all kinds of automation technologies. Bosch Rexroth will present the range of functions of ctrlX OS and its ecosystem offer at SPS.

Part of the ecosystem is the partner network ctrlX World, which expands the range of solutions. Partners contribute their strengths and solutions in the shape of additional software available in the ctrlX OS Store. The number of apps is increasing steadily. Partners are also adding ctrlX OS-compatible hardware to the portfolio. This increases the variety of automation solutions that can be used in different industries. Eleven partners will present their solutions live at the Bosch Rexroth booth at the SPS.

Motion systems in action – and greater efficiency on many levels

Bosch Rexroth motion systems complete the automation portfolio. Anyone who is interested can experience the solutions for optimal and highly efficient material and goods flows in intralogistics in action at SPS. These include the planar system ctrlX FLOW6D for contactless high-performance transport and positioning and the high-speed system ctrlX FLOWHS for transport and positioning in the modern factory.

Bosch Rexroth will also be showing energy-efficient solutions using ctrlX AUTOMATION, such as comprehensive tools and models for energy and performance simulations to optimize the design of systems. The portfolio is complemented by product-specific functions such as the Smart Energy mode for the ctrlX DRIVE. Product overhauls play an important role in the careful use of resources. The “Remanufactured Products” program aims to overhaul used parts instead of discarding them in order to extend their service life.

Bosch Rexroth will be exhibiting these and other solutions from the world of automation at booth 450 in hall 7 and will be presenting live shows three times a day on highlights from different topic areas.
