From November 25–27, 2025, SPS – Smart Production Solutions took place in Nuremberg, featuring a total of 1,175 exhibitors this year. At the world’s leading trade fair for the automation industry, we presented the latest innovations around the automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION as well as the Linux-based operating system ctrlX OS. We also covered important topics such as cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. The high number of visitors underscores the relevance and innovative strength of the industry and sends a positive signal for the future. The positive feedback from visitors confirms that the topics we showcased are right on trend. Overall, we look back on a successful show and are already looking forward to working with the new contacts we made.

Visitors were able to see this firsthand at the show, for example in the area of control solutions. We demonstrated that the control platform ctrlX CORE is now available with AI capabilities across all performance classes, as well as a total of 23 new I/O modules. Another highlight was the HMI portfolio in a completely new lineup. In addition to innovations in drive technology, the safety controller ctrlX SAFETY now also available as a hardware-independent Safety PLC app for functional safety - was another highlight. We are particularly proud of our AI-powered virtual assistant “Ask iXi.” At the show, visitors could ask iXi their questions about products, features, and documentation directly.
Cybersecurity also played an important role at the show, driven by the Cyber Resilience Act. Our operating system ctrlX OS is secure by design and already prepared for the CRA’s requirements. At our booth, we provided comprehensive information on cybersecurity, the associated challenges for machine builders, and possible solutions. Our Linux-based operating system ctrlX OS has also been continuously enhanced. At the show, visitors were able to test the new features and apps from the new Long Term Support (LTS) Release 3.6 live. Another highlight was the virtualized edition of ctrlX OS, which gives users a scalable solution that lets them run applications exactly where they deliver the greatest value.
As part of our live shows, visitors had the opportunity to discover the new features of the automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION. They could also learn about cybersecurity, the associated challenges, and potential solutions.
SPS 2025 was a complete success: a total of 1,175 exhibitors presented in 15 halls. The increased number of attendees also speaks to the relevance of the event.
