From 12.11 – 14.11.2024, SPS Smart Production Solutions took place in Nuremberg. The trade fair is the highlight of the automation industry and thus the ideal platform for us to show innovations of the automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION and the Linux-based operating system ctrlX OS.
We are overwhelmed by so much openness for our automation technologies and the innovative solutions of our partners and can look back on a successful trade fair. The SPS is a valuable exchange platform in our industry, which is also confirmed by the number of trade fair visitors, which has risen again compared to last year.
At our booth, we showed the various innovations of the automation solution ctrlX AUTOMATION, such as the ctrlX COREplus X5 in the field of control technology and 21 new I/O modules. Of course, the drive system ctrlX DRIVE cabinet-free, as a cabinet-free version, was of course a must, as well as was ctrlX FLOW. The motion systems for transport and positioning ensure highly efficient material and goods flows in intralogistics. In addition, we presented energy-efficient solutions for production, as well as numerous software solutions. Another important topic for trade fair visitors was IT security. The reason for this is the Cyber Resilience Act, which now sets mandatory cybersecurity requirements for manufacturers and retailers across the entire product lifecycle – for all products connected to another device or network. We showed on site that ctrlX OS is already Cyber Resilience Act ready.
A highlight at our booth: ctrlX OS. With the Linux-based operating system, we are creating a real alternative to proprietary platforms and establish an open automation ecosystem. Thanks to its interfaces and standards, it is open to co-creation and partner integration. Visitors were also able to experience this live: In addition to the solutions of the ctrlX OS OEM partners WAGO, Dell, NOKIA and congatec, a total of 11 partners of the partner network ctrlX World showed how they are expanding our solution portfolio in the form of software and hardware.
As part of the ctrlX AUTOMATION SHOW, visitors were given an overview of our portfolio and the trade fair booth. Afterwards, topics of interest to them could be deepened in expert discussions.
The trade fair was once again a complete success this year: A total of 1,114 exhibitors presented their solutions to a total of around 51,300 visitors. Even in economically difficult times, the SPS remains an important place for innovation and discussion. It is the summit meeting of automation professionals, where visitors can experience the latest technologies live and make and further develop valuable industry contacts.
