ctrlX OS apps nominated for the automation app award

We are very pleased to be nominated again in 2026 for the "automation app award" – with the ctrlX OS apps Security Scanner and the Universal Machine Connector.

The ctrlX OS app Security Scanner revolutionizes cybersecurity in automation. It assesses the cybersecurity of machines at the network level and inventories components. Connected devices, MAC addresses, and open network ports are recorded, allowing potential attack surfaces to be identified. Results are provided as PDF reports and in machine-readable format – thereby ensuring, among other things, that machine operators meet legal requirements.

Our second nomination, the Universal Machine Connector app, enables the connection of a wide variety of industrial controllers, shop floor devices, and IT systems. It supports diverse protocols – including Bosch Rexroth, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, and MQTT – and enables bidirectional data exchange in real-time or time-shifted. Ideal for SCADA, MES, process monitoring, and predictive maintenance: Efficiency holistically networked through intelligent system integration.

The "automation app award" is presented by the trade magazine Elektrotechnik AUTOMATISIERUNG in cooperation with ZVEI (German Electrical and Digital Industry Association) and honors the best apps in automation. The award is based on online voting, where users decide on the winners. The ceremonial award presentation will take place on May 21, 2026.
