5th ctrlX AUTOMATION trade press conference

As part of the 5th ctrlX AUTOMATION trade press conference, which focused on "Next Level Automation and Co-Creation", Bosch Rexroth provided exclusive information on new products of the automation system ctrlX AUTOMATION and on new partnerships. As a highlight, the linear high-speed motion system ctrlX FLOWHS was presented for the first time. The event took place at Bosch Haus Heidehof in Stuttgart and was completed with a guided tour of the Robert Bosch Haus.

The editorial teams of Automationspraxis, SPS-Magazin, Computer & Automation, Konstruktion & Entwicklung, etz Elektrotechnik + Automation, drivesweb, elektrotechnik, Schweizer Maschinenmarkt, ke next, Konstruktion und IEE were first given an overview of the most important facts about ctrlX AUTOMATION and the milestones of the past years.

Thomas Maag, Head of Product Management Business Unit Automation & Electrification Solutions, then presented three new solutions from the drive portfolio ctrlX DRIVE . In addition to a new compact servo drive for low power applications, he presented the cabinet-free variant of ctrlX DRIVE as well as the new 24 V / 48 V servo module for low voltage applications.

The ctrlX World does not stand still either and has continuously grown with additional partner companies. Users can now choose from solutions in 16 main categories and 150 partner use cases from 90 partner companies. Hans Michael Krause, Head of Product Management ctrlX World presented various solutions from the areas of HMI or robotics. KUKA was presented as a highlight partner this year. As a result, there is now a KUKA connection and integration based on the KUKA.PLC mxAutomation interface, which is used by Mairotec, another partner company of ctrlX World in its app "MAIRobot". As part of the partnership with KUKA, there are even plans to connect the ecosystems to combine strengths.

Carina Heil, Product Manager ctrlX OS has announced two new partnerships for ctrlX OS: Dell Technologies and Nokia. Nokia is integrating the virtualized operating system ctrlX OS into its Nokia MX Industrial Edge (MXIE) on-premises operational technology (OT) edge solution. Dell Technologies and Bosch Rexroth are working together to integrate ctrlX OS as an out-of-the-box software module for Dell NativeEdge. WAGO was already introduced as the first system and technology partner at the beginning of 2023 and gave an update on the cooperation on site. WAGO deploys ctrlX OS on its own devices and develops specific applications based on the operating system.

Rob Bierbooms, Product Manager ctrlX FLOWHS, then presented the new linear high-speed motion system for transport and positioning for the first time. Using various movers and segments, the modularity and the associated flexibility and adaptability of the solution were illustrated.

After a final round of questions and a lunch snack, the participants also had the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of the Robert Bosch House.
