Machine builder need to protect a machine from threats as required by the regulations. EdgeIPS on the machine network interface will protect the machine from any remote network threats attacking it via network interface. EdgeIPS can also limit infection spread from the “patient zero” machine if the machine got infected via other media, e.g. USB port or trusted software update. Once the IPS is switched in protection mode, the machine keeps to be protected even if the device is not updated or the devices inside are not patched.
